emGuarde Portable Explained: What Distributors Need to Know About the New EM002-K

By Aimee Q Devlin · June 2026

The emGuarde Portable (EM002-K) is Enagic®'s second-generation emGuarde—a battery-powered personal EMF protection device with a 1.5m coverage radius, 72-hour battery life, and $150 commission per point. It succeeds the stationary EM001, which will be discontinued globally over time.

Enagic® announced the emGuarde Portable (EM002-K) at its 52nd Anniversary Global Convention in Okinawa in June 2026. If you're an existing emGuarde distributor or considering adding it to your business, here's what changed, what stayed the same, and what you need to know before your next conversation.

What Is the emGuarde Portable?

The emGuarde Portable is the second-generation emGuarde device—model EM002-K—and a significant redesign of the original EM001. Where the original was a stationary plug-in device with an 8-metre diameter, designed for room or home coverage, the Portable is exactly what the name says: a close-body personal protection device designed to go wherever you go.

Enagic describes it as “Your Close-Body Personal Protection Device—designed for continuous body protection in a high electrosmog-polluted environment.”

The core technology is the same—patented harmonic frequency technology (US-12539416) backed by clinical research—but the delivery is more targeted, optimised for personal rather than room-wide coverage.

The trade-off is intentional: the Portable gives up some coverage radius in exchange for portability and always-on personal protection. The two devices are complementary rather than one replacing the other in terms of use—a home EM001 plus a personal EM002-K covers both environments.

Will the Original emGuarde Be Discontinued?

Yes—eventually. The current EM001 model will be succeeded by the emGuarde Portable. The original will be discontinued globally over time, with the Portable taking its place as the primary emGuarde product in the Enagic® lineup.

For distributors with existing customers on the EM001, there is no urgency, but it is worth knowing when you are talking to people considering the original. The Portable is where the product line is heading.

Pricing and Commission Structure

The emGuarde Portable launches in the United States first, with global rollout to follow.

  • Retail price: US$2,880
  • Bundle: Sold as a bundle of 2 units, counting as 1 group sale
  • Commission per point: $150 per point
  • Education allowance: Included
  • Reduced commissions: Same rule as the original—if a distributor starts their business with emGuarde before owning a water product, commissions are reduced until they do

The $150/point commission is notably higher than the original emGuarde ($98/point). At $2,880 retail for a bundle of 2, this positions it as a premium product in the Enagic® lifestyle category.

The Water Product Rule: Same as Before

This is the rule that catches new distributors out, and it hasn't changed for the Portable.

If a distributor starts their Enagic® business with an emGuarde Portable—without first owning a water machine—their commissions are reduced until they purchase a LeveLuk water ionizer or Anespa. This applies to the EM002-K the same way it applied to the EM001.

For your business conversations: emGuarde Portable is best positioned as an add-on product for existing Kangen Water® customers, or as a complementary product sold alongside a water machine. Leading with it as a standalone entry point into the business will result in reduced commissions for your new distributor.

How It Fits the Enagic® Ecosystem

The emGuarde Portable sits in the Lifestyle pillar of Enagic®'s “One Ecosystem Complete Wellness” model, alongside KangenAir. The full ecosystem now covers:

  • Hydration: LeveLuk water ionizer machines
  • Lifestyle: KangenAir purifier, emGuarde Portable (EMF protection)
  • Nutrition: Kangen Ukon supplements, Kangen Ukon tea, Kangen Wagyu beef
  • Wellness: Kangen Ukon soap
  • Skincare: Kangen Beauté® line

With the emGuarde Portable's emphasis on always-on personal protection—travel, commuting, desk work, sleep—it broadens the lifestyle conversation beyond the home and into every environment a customer moves through.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the emGuarde Portable available for sale outside the US?

It launched first in the United States following the 52nd Anniversary Convention in June 2026. Global availability will follow, but specific regional timelines have not been officially announced.

Does the emGuarde Portable replace the original?

Eventually yes—the EM001 will be discontinued globally over time. For now, both products exist in the lineup.

Should I keep selling the original emGuarde or switch to the emGuarde Portable?

Yes, while the EM001 remains available. The two devices serve different use cases—room coverage vs personal coverage—so they are complementary for customers who want both environments covered.

How much commission do you earn on the emGuarde Portable?

The structure is the same—8-point Enagic® plan, water product rule applies, education allowance included—but the commission per point is higher at $150 vs $98 on the original.

Do I need to own a water ionizer to earn full commissions on emGuarde?

A distributor who starts their business with an emGuarde product before owning a LeveLuk water ionizer receives reduced commissions until they purchase one. This applies to the Portable the same as the original.

Why is the emGuarde Portable sold as a bundle of 2?

The emGuarde Portable is sold as a bundle of 2 units and counts as 1 group sale in the Enagic® system.

What is the coverage range of the emGuarde Portable?

Approximately 1.5 metre radius (3 metre diameter)—a personal protection zone. The original EM001 covered approximately 4 metre radius (8 metre diameter) for room-wide coverage.

How long does the emGuarde Portable battery last?

72 hours on a full charge. Charges via USB-C with fast charging support.
